Engaging Biblical Narratives Today

Fr. Alejandro Gobrin, CMF
An Abstract
Drawing from the experience more than twenty years of biblical study and teaching in different groups from the grassroots to popular biblical centers to academic institutes, the author perceived that Scriptures deserve a different, if not a new way, of engaging with: the Narrative Way. This will present the Word of God in a more appealing, relevant, significant, and powerfully transformative way to the reader or audience. The Narrative Way is distinct from the narrative analysis usually use for biblical exegesis though the Narrative Way borrows some tools from it. It is a technique of engaging the entire person or group to reach meaningful and transformative interpretation.
The conference consists of (1) the author´s journey in search for effective biblical learning constructs; (2) lessons learned along the journey; (3) proposals of how to engage the biblical text in the contemporary time.
